A Turnkey Replacement of Aging Fuel Piping Infrastructure

Our scope involved replacing aging single-wall supply and return piping serving five (5) underground storage tanks with a modern prefabricated double-wall welded steel system. This multi-layered solution significantly enhances environmental protection, improves leak detection capability, and reduces long-term operational risk.

The full project included:

• Installation of new double-wall supply & return lines
• Complete replacement of fill and vent piping
• Application of corrosion-resistant epoxy coating to all new piping
• Temporary fuel line setup to maintain uninterrupted oil service
• Installation of new precast concrete trench covers with integrated waterproofing
• Comprehensive site work, electrical isolation, and access upgrades

Engineering Through Constraints: Retrofitting Double-Wall Systems in Limited Space

One of the project’s most significant challenges involved fitting a double-wall piping system into an existing infrastructure originally designed for single-wall lines. This required:

• Tight coordination between our in-house engineer, pipe fitters, and certified welders
• Precision prefabrication to minimize field rework
• Careful staging and sequencing to maintain system uptime
• Detailed QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with environmental and mechanical codes
