Located 20 miles southeast of Boston, Abington is a quaint town on the south shore that is the home to about 15,000 residents.  The town was incorporated in 1712 after being purchased during the Bridgewater Purchase of 1650 from the Massasoit, Chief of the Wampanoag Federation. The town was known for its scenic meadows and breathtaking streams, and its first industry was shoe manufacturing.
